river stories…
I was lucky, at one point, to live only a stone’s throw from the River Soar in Leicestershire. Always a delight, it was even more of a blessing during the months of lockdown. Being able to walk along its banks, to observe the changing seasons, to witness the ‘everyday lives’ of its residents…not only did this provide me with a feeling of freedom, but also a sense of balance. This new collection is inspired by my time along the river and its environs. From sunrises, be they golden or silver-edged…to flooded waterscapes or shrouded, silent mists rolling along, River Stories is my interpretation of the river’s essence. I hope you like them as much as I have enjoyed creating them!
Each landscape has its own story to tell...this short film attempts to capture the essence of the river, giving you an insight as to how it has inspired this collection of work... From raindrops pooling on the water's surface, to grasses, gently swaying...and golden sunrises, each adds a chapter to the whole...
