An expressive, letterbox-format painting inspired by the wide horizons and shifting light of the north Norfolk coast. In Seas of Dappled Song, translucent watercolour washes drift and overlap, echoing the soft chorus of wind, water and birdsong that carries across the shoreline. Flecks of light skim the surface like notes in a melody — moments of brightness moving across sea and sky.

There is a sense of quiet movement here: waves breathing in and out, clouds breaking and reforming, sound carried on the breeze. The horizontal format enhances that feeling of looking outward — a long, slow gaze across water, where time seems to stretch and soften.
