Original abstract landscape painting by Carolyn J Roberts
Small, intimate abstract landscape inspired by the elemental forces of the Peak District.
Earth and weather meet in softened autumnal tones — bronze and gold hues drifting across the dale. The landscape feels worn and weathered, its surface shaped by time rather than moment: wind moving endlessly over rock, rain seeping into fissures, light catching briefly before retreating again beneath a low, lingering sky.
Built through layered watercolour, ink and mixed media, the surface carries subtle marks and abrasions that echo etched stone and eroded paths — traces left by wind, water, and the slow persistence of the elements. There is a sense of weight and quiet endurance here, of land that has witnessed centuries of passing weather and remains, steady and unchanged.
This is a painting shaped by timelessness — a meditation on elemental forces and the quiet resilience of the earth.
Presented in an 8” x 10” double mount, ready to slip into a frame and bring a sense of grounded calm and moorland presence into your home.
