Just occasionally, during the height of raging storms, the howling wind abates. A hush settles over the coast, broken only by the slow, rhythmic lapping of waves. Above, rolling clouds gather and soften, shrouded in the dim, uncertain light of gloaming.

Inspired by those fleeting pauses along the Cornish shoreline, this intimate mixed media work captures the tension between turbulence and calm — the moment when the landscape seems to hold its breath. Layered washes and expressive marks suggest shifting cloud, restless sea, and the subtle traces left behind as the storm loosens its grip.
