Water presses into shadowed hollows, retreating only to return again, its movement amplified by stone. In these forbidding places, the sea’s echoes linger long after the waves have passed.

Inspired by the raw drama of the Cornish coast, this intimate mixed media piece explores the tension between solidity and motion — ancient rock set against relentless tide. Layered washes, expressive marks, and subtle textures suggest depth and recession, hinting at submerged spaces and the unseen forces at work beneath the surface.
