Different coastlines, different atmospheres, different moods — the elemental shifts of Skye and the tidal expanse of North Norfolk - both places connected by water, weather, wind, and that ever-changing meeting of land and sea.
North Norfolk draws me in with its tidal creeks, muted marshland colours, vast skies, and shifting light. It’s a quieter landscape perhaps, but one full of subtle beauty and constant movement.
Skye, meanwhile, feels wilder and more elemental — dramatic cloud formations, heavy rain sweeping across the hills, sudden shafts of light across the sea, rock, texture, and weather arriving from all directions at once.
The collection has grown from these places and the feelings they leave behind — through sketchbooks, monoprints, watercolour, collage, and layered mixed media work. Less about exact representation, and more about atmosphere, memory, emotion and response…
