Growing up on a farm, I became finely attuned to the turning of the seasons — the quiet rituals and subtle shifts that marked the land’s steady rhythm. When the harvest was finally gathered in, a hush seemed to settle across the fields. The earth, freshly tilled and dark with promise, signalled the approach of winter. Winds swept unhindered across the open farmland, threading their way through the tangle of hedgerows, carrying with them the scent of soil, leaf-fall, and the long exhale of a year’s labour done.

This expressive painting captures that moment of seasonal change — the stillness, the expectancy, the whispered stories carried on the wind.
