An intimate and immersive artist’s sketchbook inspired by the ever-changing landscapes of the North Norfolk coastline. Drifts of Clouds & Creeks unfolds as a continuous visual journey through marsh, estuary, and open sky — capturing fleeting impressions of weather, water, movement, and light gathered over time.
Created within a Seawhite of Brighton pocket-sized concertina sketchbook, the work contains original mixed media studies in watercolour, ink, and oil pastel across every surface. Layered washes, gestural marks, and textured passages move fluidly from page to page, echoing the rhythm of tidal creeks, shifting cloud formations, reedbeds, and reflective estuary waters.
Viewed page by page, the sketchbook offers quiet moments of observation and atmosphere; fully extended, it becomes a panoramic unfolding of the landscape itself — an abstracted coastline held within one continuous flow of mark-making and colour.
